I amm beginner in baking recipes and I want to try the cookies for a long time and finally on a fine saturday, i tried for the first time. since my mother wont eat egg, i didnt add egg to it and they really came out really very well.
Ingredients
- All Purpose Flour/Maida – 1.5 cup
- Sugar – 3/4th cup (can be adjusted according to taste)
- Salted butter – 1/2 cup (room temperature)
- Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
- Baking soda – 2 pinch
- Dates – 6 to 8
- Cashews – few (optional)
- Warm water or Milk – 2 to 3 tsp (optional)
Method
- In a big bowl, mix everything, expect warm water.
- If you could make a dough with these ingredients, then no need to add water or milk. Else add water or milk, little by little and make a dough.
- Then make small balls using the dough and keep it in the tray giving gap.
- Preheat the oven to 180 C and bake it for 15 to 20 min.
- When the cookies becomes, little brown colour, remove from oven and let it cool down for 5 min and transfer it to air tight container to last for 4 to 5 days.
Note:
1.Since i used salted butter itself, i didnt add salt. If unsalted butter is used, add a small amount of salt.
2. Powdered sugar can also be used
