Ingredients
- Fish – 6 pieces
- Onion – 3 (big)
- Tomato – 3 (chopped nicely)
- Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Tamarind – lemon size
- Pepper corns – 1 tsp
- Garlic – 8 cloves
- Oil – 4 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Coriander leaves – few
- Salt – as required
Method
- Take half of the onions, tomato, cumin seeds, pepper corns, garlic and grate nicely in the grinder.
- Soak the tamarind in hot water.
- In a kadai, add oil, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds and fry well.
- When the seeds splutter add the remaining onion, garlic and cook for 3 mts.
- Add the remainingTomato to it and saute well.
- Now add the tamarind water to it and allow it to boil.
- Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and allow to boil again.
- While it is boiling, add the grinded mixture to it and boil again.
- Add the fish pieces and add the curry leaves and coriander leaves and allow to boil again for 10 mts.
- Serve hot for rice.
